Difficult seasons are temporary, but what does that look like and what do we look like in them? We have heard many times…“this too shall pass”, but when it does pass it reveals what we were trusting upon, doing, and dwelling with, through that season and time.

“For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”

(2 Corinthians 4:16-18)

Perilous times come, but they will not remain forever. In and out of seasons we are growing to become children ruled by The Lord’s Kingdom, faithful and unmovable; no longer rebellious children ruled by these kingdoms below, who are tossed back and forth by each season and time.

“Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.” (Ephesians 4:13-16)

We grow by enduring in The Faith of Christ Jesus through many seasons of what evil is doing inside the kingdoms of this world. As Jesus said… “My kingdom is not of this world”. Suffering persecution and afflictions of this world we continue our Faith in The Word of The Lord in His Kingdom, not turning back and falling away into unbelief because of temporary circumstances.

Let us continue growing upon the sure foundation, found in Christ Jesus, and His Goodness shall bring us through each trial and tribulation we continue in, for He will never leave us or forsake us, for The Lord God will deliver us through them all, even to the very end of our own walk here.

“I will bless the Lord, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons. I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.” (Psalm 16:7-8)

Man’s outward form cannot endure, and time reveals how man does perish day by day, physically and spiritually. It is the inward man that God forms that endures forever, and trials and tribulations come to grow our inward man.

Often, this is how pride is removed, when in and out of seasons we learn how weak our own strength is and these circumstances reveal outwardly how we cannot endure by our own righteousness. Situations often expose this and cause us to be weak in Faith or weak over sin, so we may learn, and The Lord is merciful toward us and will never leave us or forsake us, as we continue with a heart towards Him then our weakness only grows us even closer to Him, in all Truth, through it all.

We continue to follow Jesus and when the night season comes, He is our Redeemer and Deliverer. Our Faith in Him, in His Word, has sanctified us that we may walk through the night and The Eternal Light of God and The Lamb is with us. Let us not be found like a foolish virgin, having only a “form” of godliness with us in outward appearance of light that runs out in the night season when all outward light is taken away.

“And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.” (Revelation 21:23)

The night season reveals the truth of our inward form now exposed by our outward countenance. If it is born of God our light remains by His Light, but if it is of man then our light is taken away and we are found left in a dark countenance of confusion in chaos, empty and void of His Spirit to guide us through the night.

“Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.” (John 14:17)

All must be revealed, so all know in truth where they are, when they are, and who they are; that all may have space to consider it perfectly and repent. Times of trouble shake and sift us so we may learn, and only Truth remains, before there is no more time to do so.

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” (Psalm 23:4)

When we have received the Truth we keep it within us and it does not fall away from our mind but is kept deep within our heart. We are growing together with it, season by season. And in times of trouble The Word stands up within you, comes to your remembrance, teaches and guides you, lighting the path so you may walk, step by step, season by season, trial by trial, He is there in the very hour needed.

Little ones in The Lord are growing, and from a tiny seed new growth shoots forth, and God seals and watches over them all. Those who believe upon Him are like little buds sprouting and growing new life, enduring all seasons, seasons of good and seasons of trials.

Every purpose of God is in and out of seasons that grow us, even if some prune us. Growth is not how big you think you are, growth is in the form of who you are. Many times we are pressed down like unleavened bread, to humble us in Truth, and it’s The Lord God that brings increase afterward. No man can form himself or add measure of spirit, but God can lift us up and call up His Spirit to stand within us, to form and grow us, help us, and lift us up with Him in His Day.

“Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.” (Revelation 3:10)

We all go through all seasons, no one escapes any of them, and God is no respecter of person, tribulations come upon both the just and the unjust. Many examples have been set before us showing this Truth of how God’s children suffer and endure, and why things must come even upon His own. David suffered and endured many seasons of this growth, even corrections, but never turned His heart away from The Lord.

We can see the fullness of this in Christ Jesus who took upon Himself all suffering and was raised up afterward. God reveals this for us, so that we can see and understand this, so we do not lose hope when all looks hopeless, so that we keep The Faith even in the night season, when all the things of man fails us here below and all faces lose their own light and all go into confusion together.

“My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring? O my God, I cry in the day time, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent. But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel. Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them. They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded. But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people. All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying, He trusted on the Lord that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him. But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother's breasts. I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother's belly. Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help. Many bulls have compassed me: strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round. They gaped upon me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion. I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels. My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death. For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet. I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me. They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture. But be not thou far from me, O Lord: O my strength, haste thee to help me. Deliver my soul from the sword; my darling from the power of the dog. Save me from the lion's mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns. I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.” (Psalm 22:1-22)

You cannot confess The Word of God in your mind, but deny Him in your heart, and think to endure to the end. You can have Jesus beside you, knowing of His Word, memorize scripture, but if it falls away from entering your heart then He is not within you, kept.

Betrayal is saying one thing but doing the other. Do you Love The Word of God and keep it within your heart, so that it is found within you and coming forth even through your worst trials and suffering, or do you just know The Word but when troubles come you leave it and forsake it and cannot endure the season but turn away and found seeking out another to serve and join league with instead?

“And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:” (Genesis 1:14)

Judas Iscariot had The Word of God beside him, but satan was found in Judas’ heart, and so he was given over to it. The Lord God will not share space with another, we must be One, we cannot be divided in heart and mind thinking to serve both God and satan. When temptations come we are led away by our own lust, and we fall away by doing those things found deep within our heart where the depth of who we really are is kept and now exposed in all Truth in season and time.

When a season comes, and the Word is called up to stand, will it be within you or will you be found without, even though He was next to you knocking on your heart all along, but you did not let him within.

Let us not be found “giving up the ghost” that day, when our houses are exposed and we are found caught unaware inside that hour, but let us be found in the covenant marriage having the same mind and heart, in One accord, joined in a union that cannot be taken away, given up, fall short and fail us.

There may be weeping in the night season but Joy comes in the morning – WAIT ON THE LORD and let us not lean on our timing we want, but His perfect timing shall grow us fully, in due season.

“And now my soul is poured out upon me; the days of affliction have taken hold upon me. My bones are pierced in me in the night season: and my sinews take no rest. By the great force of my disease is my garment changed: it bindeth me about as the collar of my coat. He hath cast me into the mire, and I am become like dust and ashes. I cry unto thee, and thou dost not hear me: I stand up, and thou regardest me not.” (Job 30:16-20)

“Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” (John 9:3-5)

Consider the end for Job and David and all others who waited and trusted upon The Lord. When we fall, we fall upon The Lord, at His feet, upon His foundation, so that He may lift us up with Him, afterward.

“That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.”

(1 Corinthians 2:5-10)

Otherwise, when the night season comes it shall fall upon the heads of pride and the rebellious who refuse to lay down to enter into His rest, trusting upon The Word of God, to bow under His Rule where the Gospel of Peace with God is found.

“And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night.” (Exodus 14:20)

“And when they cried unto the Lord, he put darkness between you and the Egyptians, and brought the sea upon them, and covered them; and your eyes have seen what I have done in Egypt: and ye dwelt in the wilderness a long season.” (Joshua 24:7)

All who lift themselves up in their own pride and strength shall be abased and exposed by a great fall to reveal in Truth where one is found standing with and upon, ruled under, or taken away by.

“Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will perform that good thing which I have promised unto the house of Israel and to the house of Judah. In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land. In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely: and this is the name wherewith she shall be called, The Lord our righteousness. For thus saith the Lord; David shall never want a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel; Neither shall the priests the Levites want a man before me to offer burnt offerings, and to kindle meat offerings, and to do sacrifice continually. And the word of the Lord came unto Jeremiah, saying, Thus saith the Lord; If ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, and that there should not be day and night in their season; Then may also my covenant be broken with David my servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne; and with the Levites the priests, my ministers. As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured: so will I multiply the seed of David my servant, and the Levites that minister unto me. Moreover the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying, Considerest thou not what this people have spoken, saying, The two families which the Lord hath chosen, he hath even cast them off? thus they have despised my people, that they should be no more a nation before them. Thus saith the Lord; If my covenant be not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth; Then will I cast away the seed of Jacob and David my servant, so that I will not take any of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will cause their captivity to return, and have mercy on them.” (Jeremiah 33:14-26)
