Reflections
Grave on the Mountains…
We just visited the place of existence where all human love is purged from within us, only to be replaced with the purity of Jesus’s love. Where we no longer seek to be loved or love others within our own human frailties, coming up short eventually every single time. Honestly, we cannot even love others the right away without the influence of the love of the Lord, although we try and fail often. When our love runs out, His indwells and sustains us. When our love is depleted, that is when Jesus can use us the most effectively to accomplish the pouring out of Him upon the Earth.
We must always be mindful to – do unto others as you would like them to do unto you… found in Luke chapter 6. Wouldn’t we all like to be loved as Jesus loved by someone here on Earth? Then… we must seek to be diligent to love all just as He did and how we desire to be loved.
Being able to put yourself into the shoes of another is a real gift and calling. Which is rare these days since most are lovers of self. If this is you – I encourage us all today to keep showing that sort of compassion to whoever we meet. Making time for others, to listen, embrace, encourage carries the anointing of Jesus, in that we too may be poured out as a drink offering to those who are thirsty, depleted and in need, because we too can remember when that was us. So we have a true and genuine heart to introduce others to the sort of love only Jesus can give, that fully satisfies.
Psalm 27:14
Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!
We wait… the Lord strengthens our hearts to wait upon Him. So often we try to accomplish things on our own, only to hit the wall unable to proceed. He places us into purposed holding patterns to cultivate courage to walk by faith and not following a path we can see in advance what lies before us. Our hearts faint when we do not wait upon Him.
Psalm 42:7
Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls; All Your waves and billows have gone over me.
As the deepness of Him crashes over us in waves, we can drift… resulting in us becoming tattered and torn like a ship on the raging seas. Our souls will be in distress because in these moments we are yearning for His presence to calm the raging inward sea pulling us and pushing us into anguish of the heart. We cry out as His child, longing to commune with Him and He comes… and with Him He brings His comfort and His love and all is calm, once again.
John 11:1-6
Now a certain man was sick, Lazarus of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha. It was that Mary who anointed the Lord with fragrant oil and wiped His feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick. Therefore the sisters sent to Him, saying, “Lord, behold, he whom You love is sick.”
When Jesus heard that, He said, “This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it.” Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. So, when He heard that he was sick, He stayed two more days in the place where He was.
I have to admit… every time I read this story in the Bible I giggle. Mainly, because I cannot think of another example of just how different Jesus’s ways are from my own. I mean, who does that? Hear of someone in desperation and need and says… okay, thank you for letting me know, I will be there to assist, just not for two days… That’s our Jesus. The One who’s purposed to be glorified, even when faced with sickness to death. When all humanity is in a fretful panic, He waits for His glory to be revealed to those with little or no faith. So today we are reminded: Jesus always comes when we call, but His delays are purposed in our lives so His timing is perfect. I am just always so in awe about how He moves, aren’t you?
Luke 14:27
And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.
· There are those who follow Jesus and there are disciples and for all who believe in Jesus you fall into one of these two categories.
· When we die to self, it’s a continual daily process, not one and done. Meaning, we give up our old sinful ways, ourselves, our life, wants and desires, in that He may live in us.
· Only disciples live a disciplined life trusting the hand of God keep them on the clear path with His discipline and love. This path is full of correction, daily.
· When we are His disciple, we – live surrendered, fused into the heart all that matters is: to do the will of the One we follow and love the most, Jesus, no matter what.
· Disciples love His discipline due to the flame of obedience placed within.
· There are many believers who follow Jesus – but disciples change from fearing life and what others can do to you, to fearing God should you not be able to accomplish His will continually.
· Disciples bear it all for the sake of Him, joyfully, because it is an honor and not a right.
· Jesus chose His few disciples out of a throng on many, often taking them alone to teach them of Himself. He did it then and He is still doing it today.
· We often make the mistake of assuming everyone is a disciple. They aren’t. Our job is to preach the Gospel for the purpose of salvation and let Jesus do the picking of His own He wants to send out. Remember we are not to try to force others to conform to us – all that matters is that someone is conforming to Him.
Mathew 16:24
Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.
· Please note: This Scripture is ONLY FOR DISCIPLES. He isn’t talking to the masses amount of people who believe in Him as Lord. We must rightly apply the Word of God in that confusion and force does not set into our ways of outreach. If we are trying to make a disciple out of a believer only, we can become agitated and no longer doing God’s work, but our own. The Word does say we are to “make disciples of all men…” But think about this – What we if go before the Lord and try to force a disciple to be so before Jesus has appointed them? Then we are operating out of Godly order.
· Disciples have died enough to self in that they readily pick up their cross, having denied themselves of the pleasures found in anything unrighteous, in order to follow Jesus because they LOVE HIM.
· He has planted within them strength matched with desire to: deny self-will, rebellion, denying His Name when facing adversity because they intimately comprehend suffering as Jesus did.
· They also are willing to sacrifice even life itself for Him. Again, willing to, not forced to.
· They do not just endure all things and problems – they overcome them by seeking His will above all else, holding fast to His word no matter what and shall never deny His Name in front of men.
· They are very disciplined, no longer tossed to and fro by anything that comes their way.
· Having surrendered their will to His – Jesus is their joy, having their hopes and dreams fade into nothingness, being tried and tested they know He is lasting to sustain them.
· May we not mix the two together and be lead of the Spirit having learned this today so that we do not get out of sync with what the Lord is performing and who He is calling and when. It’s a process, first you believe, then you are chosen and sent as His disciple. Too many believers send themselves without the dying part complete. I pray that not be any of us.

This is your Serendipity moment… Your date with the Divine, so to speak. All are worthy and invited to this table, as we gather together of one accord, for the purpose of glorifying Jesus in the Name of Love, Himself.
